Project Renovatio

Our Mission

To create an electric motorcycle and demonstrate the viability of electric transportation in an effort to advance us towards a clean energy future.

Project Renovatio is an electric motorcycle conversion project. The object of this undertaking is to convert a 1993 Honda CBR600f2 into a 100% electric motorcycle. The primary end is to raise awareness and confidence in electric vehicles in an effort to accelerate our transition into a completely electric future.

Meet The Team

A team of dedicated engineering students from the University of Kansas have joined together to help solve this challenge of a sustainable transportation model. During this academic year (2014-2015), our team will design and construct the necessary systems to complete the transformation of the motorcycle.

Meet The Bike

The Motorcycle.

Project Renovatio began in 2012 with the purchase of a 1993 Honda CBR600f2. This bike was chosen because its wider steal frame makes it easy to weld components and and fit everything inside.

Operation Tear-Down.

The motorcycle was completely stripped of its gasoline components, leaving only a rolling shell of a chassis

Swing Arm Installation

A quick video of installing the swing arm.

Component Sourcing.

The components were carefully selected to meet the various constraints of size, weight, and safety.
